Final Week I know that it is not 160 words but I have to explain why so many things are missing..

I finally had everything on Tuesday night. I started sewing Chloe's dress on Wednesday after lesson... Unfortunately the patterns were half wrong and I had to make some changes on the dress. But this wasn't enough. When I had almost finished it, I realized that the size was around 12 or 14. Chloe's model was size 10 but it was 7 o clock and I didn't have time to change it more. I continued on Thursday and found out that I needed extra facing. There was anything on the working drawing neither on the patterns. It took long to do all the facing when I had already made smaller the size of the dress. I finished some details on Friday morning until 11 o clock. But I was really disappointed because my model had sent me a message at 4 o clock in the morning that she would be unable to come. So I had to find a new one... Fortunately I had seen a really thin girl that was Chloe's friend s Chloe asked her and she came. But around 1:30 my design was not finished the model couldn't fit in it cause the dress was enormous and also she did not let me to make her make up as I wanted it to be. And except for that. The dress had no holes for the ribbon on the left side, the buttons were not there, there was an extra cut at the right side because of the zip and the binding was replaced by a white seam. The two of the three other members used striped denim fabric when we had decided to change the theme from stripes to lines because these two members did not wanted to have a striped fabric. Also we had decided not to use denim and now my plain navy blue neoprene fabric could not link with the other three dresses. The two guys had not models so in the catwalk the only dresses that were shown were Chloe's and mine. They couldn't be linked together. It was a TOTAL FAIL. And except for that, when we had to submit the twill the final dress the working drawing the patterns and the final illustration, I had no patterns cause Ashley didn't come on Friday because he was working and he had kept my patterns. My working drawing was at Chloe's who was disappeared because she was going to finish my dress at her home and my dress was never finished.  It was not my responsibility. Moreover, I don't think that any other member of my group had an illustration. The one that I made for Ashley's dress (as it was the only one that I had not done anything until then) was really bad as I had never seen the dress finished and on a model. So I made it as I thought that it would be and my drawing was terrible. I don t know if it was my fault. I hope that the examiners will be indulgent with my work and will check what I was given and what I made.

Fifth Week - Waiting

Unfortunately this week only two of the four members of my group had bought the fabrics, only two calico dresses were finished and the one of the four dresses had no patterns.
Actually the patterns of my design were completely changed because the person who was going to made them fount it really hard to make what I had designed and also had put facing instead of binding, something that made the patterns really harder to be done.
So on Thursday I stayed until late to fix the patterns of my dress.
On Friday, I have been waiting again for the fabrics and the patterns so I couldn't make the final dress.
What I did was to stay and repair some little details on my calico dress...
Unfortunately it is Tuesday night, the fashion show is on Friday and I have just received the fabrics and the patterns.

Fourth Week - Groups - See my mistakes - New Calico Dress

Thursday - Fixing the Patterns
Friday - Sewing the new calico.

The first calico dress was something like a test for my patterns... So I saw some mistakes that I tried to fix by making some changes on the patterns and sewing a second one.

The first of my mistakes was at the front side of the breast that i couldn't attach the fabric exactly where the seam should be. and that could couse problem on the final one because the upper part was going to be a striped fabric.

So with tutors help I made this part to have one seam and not to need more than one cut on the striped fabric.

The second mistake was the place of the cut on the front-left side. The cut was a bit opening.

So instead of one piece on the middle part of the front side, I made it in three parts so that to make the down parts fall better on the body.

I also separated the back side in three pieces. The zip would need the back side to be at least in two different pieces so I made them three to be uniform.

FABRIC SHOPPING

I wanted to decide a fabric not really eccentric but more simple so that to finish it with details that may show the theme.
So I decided neoprene in navy color cause I couldn't find black and bought nice buttons and two different zips so that to decide with the other members if I could use the silver one or if I should use the simple black.

Third Week - Groups- Calico Dress

Thursday - Designs - Pattern Cutting

This Thursday a new member joins our group. Chloe.
Now we make our designs, we change the theme from stripes to lines and we start pattern cutting in the same technique that we were taught the previous week. We had randomized the dresses so I was going to make the pattern for Kurtis' dress.
When I drew his design I cut it in pieces depending on the lines that I had made on it.

Friday - Pattern Cuuting

On Friday we continued with the patterns that we started on Thursday.
It was quite easy as I took the pieces of the 3D mannequin that I did on Thursday and I made the same pieces on a new tracing paper.
After then I cut them, I putted the patterns on my calico and I finished the calico dress.

Second Week - Groups

The second week we decided the theme of our group collection. Unfortunately this Thursday Sophie left the group so we were 3 left in the group.
As we couldn't find any common theme in style, we decided to set stripes so that to make four different dresses ( one for work, one for clubbing, one for sports ) .
We also made some designs so that so find the three more suitable for our collection.
Moreover, these two days we practiced in sewing some seam and zip samples.
Last we learned about a way to find the patterns.
First we cut the classic patterns on tracing paper and then we put it on the mannequin. Then we cover it with tape and then we draw on it our design... We cut the pieces and we have our patterns ready.
This days i had no camera with me so I do not have any document.
